Mobile and Urgent Services


At Bytowne Notary Public, we provide Mobile and Urgent Services in the Ottawa area upon request. Our professionals will attend your home, hospital, long term care facility or place of work to gather information, and to fully notarize or commission documents, during work hours, in the evenings, or on weekends, as needed.

Combining the best of both worlds, our Mobile and Urgent Services can be used in tandem with our Fast Draft process - leaving you with peace of mind as we attend at your location, ascertain your need, draft your document(s), take any required additional steps, and return to fully notarize or commission your document(s).

Please note that some services - Authentication & Legalization as well as Marriage Abroad documentation - cannot be fully secured as Mobile and Urgent Services due to government timelines. However, we will nonetheless attend at your location and process all documents expeditiously.

Please also note that should you combine our Mobile and Urgent Services with our Fast Draft process, your document production will require a 48 hour turnaround time-frame. Thus, the urgency of your notarization, commissioning or other matter, if a concern, may be affected in instances in which documents are not available and thus require our drafting services.
Service Fees
Mobile & Urgent Service Fees (additional to our base service fee of $15 for the first five documents and $10 per subsequent document in most instances):
  • All documents subject to Mobile and Urgent Services: $75 additional service fee
Optional Fees For Other Services You May Additionally Select:
  • Gold Seal: The above pricing applies to Silver Seal embossing. Some clients prefer Gold Seal embossing, which stands out and reads better if documents are photocopied or scanned. $3 additionally (one-time flat fee, not per page)
  • Additional Notary Information (Red Stamp): Notaries prevent fraud by checking identities and signatures. To ensure someone is really a notary, Canadian governments check against their database of notary seals and signatures. If the entity requiring you to notarize your document does not have access to this Canadian government database, your notary can give additional information to enable a general (“Law Society”) search to verify your notary’s identity. $6 additionally (one-time flat fee, not per page)
  • Digital Copy: Your notary is required to keep an electronic copy of your identity and document on file. As an option, this copy can be emailed to you. This is useful if you will be giving your notarized document to the entity requesting it, but you want to keep your copy or have a back-up copy. Maximum of 20 one-sided pages. $4 additionally (one-time flat fee, not per page)
  • Witnessing: We can provide you with up to two witnesses, in the event they are required in addition to the notarization of your document. $10 additionally per batch of 6 or less witness signatures
  • Printing: We can provide you with a printing service if you send us your documents in advance of your visit to our office. This is especially useful for clients with large sets of documents, running into the tens or hundreds of pages. Up to 5 pages: free. Beyond 5 pages but under 25 pages: $10 additional fee. After the 25th page: $10 additional fee applies to each batch of 25 or less pages.
  • Fast Draft: Your notary can opt to draft your document if you don’t have one ready. A maximum of 2 pages per document applies. Complex documents will be charged a higher fee. $75 additionally for the first document and $35 for each additional document
1) Payment for mobile services can be made by Visa, MasterCard, American Express or cash. Unfortunately we are unable to accept cheques.
2) The harmonized sales tax (HST) will be added to fees.

Note that it is important that all documents and persons be ready at the appointed time. Additional fees of $20 per 15 minute delay, beyond an initial 15 minutes wait, may be charged if a delay ensues without good reason.

Further, note that if Fast Draft is required, we will commence work on drafting your document immediately following an initial consultation to acquire relevant details and a method of payment.
